Client Data Analyst in Operations Team
Onebase consolidates investment data for wealth managers. Their clients’ money sits across many different providers, in many different formats, and we bring it together into one accurate, reconciled view every month so their advisers can see a client’s whole position in one place.
We’re looking for a Client Data Analyst to join our Operations team, reporting to our Senior Client Data Analyst. You will own the monthly data cycle for a set of our customers, from the data arriving through to it being signed off and delivered, and you will be the person those customers deal with along the way.
What you will do
- Run the monthly data cycle for your own customers, end to end
- Collect data from investment providers and chase what has not arrived
- Import holdings and transactions, and check that what came in is right
- Map clients, accounts, products and investments to our master data
- Load asset allocations, investment returns, index returns and exchange rates
- Run performance returns and reconcile them
- Check the results before they go for sign-off
- Answer your customers’ queries, and go back to them before they have to chase
- Help bring new customers on board, and build sample data for prospective ones
What matters most to us
- You engage with customers. This is not a back-office role. Our customers ask where their data is, why a figure has moved, and when the next thing is due. You will be the person who answers, and who picks up the phone rather than waiting for the next email
- You are task and process driven. The monthly cycle is a defined sequence with checkpoints and dates. It needs to be run the same way every time. Where the process does not fit, we want you to say so rather than work around it
- You are organised. You will have several customers at different stages at the same time. Nothing can be dropped, and everything needs to be visible - logged, dated and up to date
Requirements
- Experience dealing directly with customers or clients, and the confidence to explain something technical to somebody who is not
- Experience working to a repeating monthly or weekly cycle with real deadlines
- Strong organisation. You use a system rather than your memory
- Comfortable with numbers, and the instinct to check something that looks wrong before passing it on
- Confident in Excel - lookups, filtering, and reconciling two sets of data against each other
Useful, but we will teach you
- A background in wealth management, asset management, fund administration, LISP or stockbroking
- Familiarity with holdings, transactions and investment returns
- Experience of a portfolio, data or reconciliation system
- Comfortable using AI tools in your day-to-day work
- ClickUp, or a similar task and project tool

We’re looking for a senior .NET and SQL developer to join our engineering team in Johannesburg.
